Each Fall, The Wisconsin Organization of Nurse Leaders honors three outstanding Wisconsin nurse leaders. A WONL Rising Star, WONL Nurse Executive, and a WONL Nurse Leader. The selected individuals contribute significantly to the nursing profession and the health care field. In this unprecedented year we have seen incredible leadership by our WONL nurses across the state. Please take a moment to recognize the leaders in your organization that have made a difference. Nomination deadline is Aug 2nd, 2024.
If you would like to nominate a WONL nurse leader, please complete the following nomination form and attach any letters of recommendation from colleagues who can attest to the candidate’s excellent work. Nominations and letters of support should be sent to the address below by August 2nd, 2024, or emailed to equamme@WHA.org . Attached are the criteria and nomination form.

The Committee on Nominations will notify the person you have nominated. The candidate will then be sent a form to complete, which will request the required professional information.
The following are recommended sources for potential reference letters:
- CEO or CNO
- Physician (s)
- Nurse Leader or Nurse Colleague
- Peer from another discipline
The award will be presented at the WONL Fall Conference September 18-20th, 2024.
