Please join WONL for our Fall Symposium in collaboration with Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire! This event starts at 10AM and will provide valuable networking opportunities with nurse leaders from across the state of Wisconsin, as well as a lively keynote providing real-world strategies to help keep your nurses happy! To learn more about WONL, all guests are invited to stay after the keynote for the Board of Directors meeting from 12:30-3:30. The day will conclude no later than 4PM. Anyone in a current or aspiring leadership role in nursing is encouraged to attend. This event is offered at no cost and attendees are eligible to receive 1.5 contact hours granted by WISHET. Registration is required.
Parking: Please park in the Medical Offices parking lot (most northern lot), and the lot to the east of the cancer center. We ask guests to enter the hospital’s main entrance on the east/southeast side of building. We will have a greeter and wayfinding signage to help guide people to the second floor conference room. A campus map is attached.

1.5 CE CreditsNurse leaders play an important role in overall nursing satisfaction and retention. Research demonstrates staff satisfaction is positively related to improved productivity, patient care outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Additionally, nurses cite relationships with front-line managers as a key driver in their intent to remain employed. Nurse turnover poses significant financial and resource challenges to health systems including overtime utilization, increased agency spend, and productivity loss. With healthcare job vacancies outpacing healthcare hiring by more than 100 percent, a laser-sharp lens is being applied to retention and engagement by nursing leaders across the country.
This session will highlight strategies from successful organizations that have achieved high recruitment and retention rates, brand loyalty, and positive public images as healthcare employers. Nurse leaders will also learn how to utilize retention and referral strategies, and a brand built upon employee happiness, to attract new and unique talent and keep them engaged at the bedside.
