The world is facing unprecedented times with the COVID-19 virus and your leadership during these trying times is critical to healthcare and the people we serve. As the Wisconsin Organization of Nurse Leaders, we are here to support you. Like all of you, we are following the guidance of our CDC experts and trying to prepare our Wisconsin teams for action. Our hearts go out to those around the world who are trying to fight COVID-19. In Wisconsin, we recognize Milwaukee, Brown, and Dane Counties, among others who are already seeing several positive cases.
WONL will continue to work in partnership with WHA to support your needs during this time including legislative advocacy to increase needed supplies including PPE’s, ventilators, etc. It is the priority to keep our frontline staff, patients, families, and communities protected from this deadly virus. This is not a time for blaming but a time for kindness and compassion to permeate through this difficult time.
As Nurse Leaders in the state, please share ideas and solutions that have helped you and your community with this fight against COVID-19 so we might all improve our recovery rates.
As leaders and nurses, I know we often put others in front of ourselves. However, during this time of ongoing change, please remember self-care and your resiliency are so important to remain at your best and be able to lead our teams forward.
Nursing is a calling, not just a job. We are all in this together!! Stay safe and well my friends and colleagues!!!
